Will invest in a broadhead target and blaze away.
Thanks for the heads up, would hate to wound a nice animal.

You can always just switch to mechanicals or just keep your shots under 10 yards. :)

The thing with mechanicals . . .they are losing their poor quality reputations. Today's mechanicals are well built. They open when they are suppose to open. They fly like fieldpoints because they pretty much are field points. They make a huge hole because they, on average, have twice the cutting surface of the small profile fixed blades. Short recoveries. I can't really speak for the blood trails, I haven't had to track one . . .they have all fallen within sight.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

I like that plan, for some reason I was told to stay away from mechanicals when shooting a xbow.
I'm impressed that mechanicals work but I'm sure not all are good.
What do you guys suggest . I'd like to stay with 100 grain if possible, love the way the vortex throws them out there at that weight. :D

Back too the basics for me got my bitz out and some xx75 camo hunters and 5 inch gateway feathers and 110 brass inserts .put regular inserts in nock end of the 2117 and the brass in front after squareing and weighing each component.put as much helix as I could get with the best contact with the shaft.wt 513 with 125 gr tip. Shot from vortex and equinox flew like darts no fishtailing .shot great in the wind . Less vibration and noise when shot . Wt on new shafts less than one gr difference not 5 gr like gt11 .no more carbons for me .one arrow for both bows . No more testing and a lot more shooting .can,t wait too shot some broadheads on them.
