Then excuse my use of the word explode if you have the bow up to your face and the limb breaks you will swear there was a explosion .
I went through all your posts since you joined and looked for problem posts regarding the gentheman in Ohio doing shoddy work.

I try to remain civil on here. Not to give anyone a bad name. Aging Crossbow and myself had a phone conversation about my problems with the Ohio operations.
Sir I do not and will not go into detail on this forum.

Hello Joshua .

Wow ... I feel for you ! It sucks to have an issue that you can get resolved or an answer for !

The string creep back towards the shooter as you describe ? ( or "A " direction as per wabi's picture ) .

Man I've been shooting Excalibur Crossbows since they 1st came out and I don't have an answer for that one unless some how the string shrinks , the limb bolts loosen or limbs fail ?

If your season is over and you still want to look into it , send me your bow and I will do some trials / troubleshooting ...

I have seen and it is not unusual for string creep forward towards the riser ( or "B " direction as per wabi's picture ) , but that is not what you describe .

I bought my 1st Excalibur Relayer back when they 1st came out in early 80's . Owned and shot pretty well every model since from Wolverine , Exocet up thru Exomax and my current Y25 Relayer .

Last December , I found an awesome deal on an old carved limbed Exocet in Trial Cover Camo ( pristine condition ) and got it for my daughter as a Christmas gift . It is a tack driver as well !

I don't have any of the newer models ( Phoenix , Vortex , Equinox etc. ) but soon to purchase a 380 Matrix , which will put me current ! ( I've never been a speed freak , but the Bill T. Matrix video sold me ... did you see that one buck > the arrow passes thru him and buries in the ground before he even gets a chance to react ! )

Over the years ( by accident of course ) > I have dropped my Excal's out of trees , run over them , bumped scratched , submerged in water etc. and honestly the only failures that I can recall were scope related and both times that happened the scopes were exchanged / changed out on the spot soon after the failure . ( no questions asked and under warrantee ) .

I've been real lucky ! ... Every year I hunt spring and fall > I know I should take more care of them , but my Excal's hang in the shop strung all year round ... The only time I unstring one is to turn a string to correct brace height or to test a new string .

Image

Every year I pull them off the wall take a few shots at my backyard deer target and go hunting ! That's what I like about them !

Image
Image

Has the POI changed from year to year ? No idea exactly > they are in the zone " Vitals " ( Turkey / Deer every hunting season ).
Baring a scope malfunction ( which again > I can recall only 2 in 29 years ) ...

Image

Has my FPS changed from year to year because I don't unstring my Excal's ... I have no idea , I don't own a chronograph , and the arrows still pound into the ground after pass thru on majority of occasions ! ( whether I'm shooting a Vixen or Y25 Relayer ) ( baring animal bone or shoulder obstructions ) .

In summary ... 29 years of Excalibur ownership > I've never had a major crossbow malfunction or failure > Never had any question or issue that wasn't addressed promptly / professionally by Bill T. or the Excalibur staff > So I'm very surprised to hear you are having a problem ?

Again > If you don't feel you are getting adequate resolution to your problem > Send me your bow > I will troubleshoot it and send you my findings ...
I live pretty close to the Excalibur Plant > tech support is readily available .

If you still feel like there is a problem with your bow with the string, please take RJ up on his offer.

RJ is a very long time member to this forum and many on here can speak up for his abilities and honesty.

Now, back to the responses you received from Excalibur (Dan or head office). Believe me that when I say this, they have tested every model they have streniously tested and have seen almost every type of problem your bow can produce. IF both of them have said that there is not a problem which should be worried about, then I would not worry about it. Just enjoy the bow and have fun.

I understand that when you purchase something at the value of what these bows are, there is always something in your mind worried about possible problems and was the money worth it. THen when you see something, which is not normal or easily understood, then a person can jump to a conclussion that there is something which needs to be fixed cause there is a serious problem. I am sorry that the response you got back was not what you wanted to hear. BUt with them sorta making lite of the situation, to me only says that there is not any problem there at all, none to worry about. Trust Bill T and Dan, they do know and understand these bows better then any of us.

Joshua 24:15 wrote:Well...I spoke with Danny Miller and apprised him of my findings. He advised, "just shoot it and call me when there is a real problem."

Unreal...

I guess when I have the opportunity, I will cock the bow and check the limbs and then take off the string and check the limb bolts. Nothing else to do.

Thanks ya'll for your responses, engouragements, and technical advise. Oh... and thanks awshucks for your politeness.
I too, as well as RJ have been shooting Excalibur bows for a real long time. I bought my first Excalibur (orginal Relayer) right at the biginning of their business. IF ther is a problem, they will step up to get it fixed or help get it fixed.

Good luck.

Got a few PM's on this subject and one good idea was to send only the limbs ... I could bolt them to one of my bows and test .

Reading the last part of this thread really makes you scratch your head when folks sign in wanting a quick fix and get frustrated when they don't get it, then they don't keep us posted. What do we tell the next guy with the same problem?

I am aware it can be frustrating having these issues, but the way to improve anything is to diagnose and correct any problems. Good or bad, it would have been nice to know the end results, heck, it's not like there's no member support here.

X2 on this point. I got my Vortex last April after doing considerable reading and talking to xbow people. Since then I have learned how to do a decent job serving a string, gained a better understanding of arrow dynamics and tuning. Rolling my own now. Have saved a lot of money by reading and applying all the good stuff I read on here. I have not yet felt the need to contact Excalibur as I have always been able to find an answer from this community. I trust the member that started this thread has found a solution and am curious to know what it was. Not everything I have tried has come off satisfactorily but by reading and reasoning things keep progressing. I quickly learned that the Excal has far more than adequate accuracy and reliability for hunting and also is a great platform for testing and tinkering and having a lot of fun.
