Help newbie here! Problem when shooting Exocet crossbow

Maybe it is just me, but I don't see a difference in those flat nocks than the one I posted? The Excalibur nocks I can see the difference but not the other ones. What am I missing?

So then I guess I just need to find if these will fit that ID already provided.

Can someone post a photo of the correct nock or flat nick being referenced? I am a visual type person and it will help me understand what I am looking for since I thought the arrow with the nock I got was correct

UPDATE!!!

So I called Carbon Express and they have been bought out by Feradyne. Needless to say they didn't have any. So not to beat a , but if I buy a different type flat nock for the CEs, will they even fit? CE did confirm that these are indeed .284" ID

Most folks who know me here know I like to tinker and modify things or figure out a way to improve things.

If you look at the black plastic nock in the above photo you will see elongated raised shoulders. A slightly larger OD plastic nock can be used if you can't find the right size and a sharp utility blade utilized to slightly shave the raised shoulders evenly till the nock fits right and square.

I have done that, wear cut proof gloves to be safe.

Most folks here do that with plastic Lumenoks to make them fit better.

Ahhhh! Ok that makes sense. At least that would allow me to test the bow more. Learning curves. I’m hoping g this is just a small obstacle

What ever you end up using just be sure they fit properly when loaded in the crossbow. If their diameter is too small the string may jump over them and if too large a diameter they may not fit securely up against the string. When sliding the arrow up the rail to the trigger mechanism I like to feel and hear a solid contact. In this way I know the arrow's nock is pushed firmly up against the string.

A friend of my uses an Excalibur Equinox crossbow. While stalking for deer he took a shot at a really nice 10 pointer. The arrow shattered and broke into a few pieces. It appears as he was walking and stalking the arrow had moved away from the string. When he took the shot he had a partial dryfire. The arrow was loaded but not secured in the trigger mechanism. Obviously he missed the buck and also ended up with a couple of nasty cuts on his hand. No damage to the crossbow that he could find. He now checks the arrow frequently while hunting.

Frequently check plastic nocks for damage as you shoot them. That's tremendous amount of force being applied to them. I use the plastic flat nocks supplied with the Nufletch Lighted nocks I use. So far they have held up very well.

Please Safety First!!
Don't ever drop your guard when shooting the crossbow. Not following established procedures can get you seriously injured. If wearing heavy gloves it's easy for your thumb to unknowingly raise above the shooting rail at the forearm. As me how I know that!! My thumb is still numb after about 5 years. More than one guy has ended up in the ER getting his thumb sewed back together!!

In time all of this will become second nature to you!!

I've never liked the plastic nocks. Excalibur aluminum all the way for my beast. Switched my zombies over also as one plastic nock split, dryfired and cut the string at the same time. I have never had a problem with Excals nocks.

Hank - how do you make sure that the nocks from Excalibur are the correct size for the arrow? Or how do you retrofit them, etc. sorry for all the questions

They are a hard plastic so the feel and sound works.

To simplify things just buy some Excalibur Firebolt arrows. They come with the flat aluminum nocks.

@hankenhunter - Forgot to ask, so the Excal aluminum fit into the Zombies? Will they fit the BEEs too you think?
