vixen fps?

just bought a new vixen a few weeks ago i am shooting beman thunderbolts 20 inches long with 100 gr tips, they shoot 272 fps .they weigh 410 grains.does anyone know if this about normal? thank you.

With 350 gr 285 fps, 325 gr 295 fps thats good for 410 gr.

I have a very slow Vixen, a very slow bow period. I have experimented with arrows from as light as 415 grains to as heavy as 460 grains. I settled on the 460 grain arrow.

I have limb savers 8 inched down from the tip of each limb. I have limb savers on the back side of the limbs at the outer limb bolts. I have limb savers on the rail where the string goes across. I have big figure 8 tied cat whiskers on the string. I have sims silencers on the bolt hold down spring.

My Vixen is very smoothe, no felt viberation at fireing, very quiet, and very slow. However, very slow still gives me 59 ft lbs of KE at 40 yards and .491 SS of momentum. I can shoot off my picnic table with a rest and get my broadheads into 4 inches at 40 yards. I can shoot from my modified Trophy Chair, hunting situation, and get no worse than 5 inches at 40 yards.

This 460 grain arrow is not the most accurate, but, accuracy is great, it is smoothe, and quiet. If you have a 28 inch draw, as most hunters do, it would take a really fast, hard cam compound to match my slow Vixen

This was my results if it helps;
New Laser II's...20" long w/out any inserts weigh 202.6 grains and with aluminum front and rear inserts weigh 253.5 grains
Total weight with 125 grain head is 378.5, and was chronographed two times at 269 fps. one time at 270 fps.
