the mark on your deck or rail should be 1 inch from the front end of the rail. one inch to one inch and a quarter should be good. do not shoot the bow if the string is in front of that line, and if you are shooting a new string check that often... i know i made that mistake last year and slung the string off the bow due to a too low "brace height". you can shorten the string by twisting it to make it shorter, which will increase your brace height. untwisting the string will make it longer and therefore decrease your brace height. hope this helps

If the string is too long, you twist it to shorten it. If it's a flemish string you have to twist in the direction that would tighten the twist. Just unstring, and give it a few twists!

If the string is below the line take it off the bow and twist the string and it will go away from the riser. if the string is to far (about an inch) above the line untwist the string. If its a new string, start at about 1 1/2 inches above the riser, after 20 shots it will get to the line again. Twist the line again to 1 1/2 ", after that go to 1 1/8" - 1 1/4" when the stretch is out of the string. Hope that helps.
