Speaking of weight........these shafts came with aluminum flat nocks and brass inserts for the front.......one each of the nock and insert weigh 115.4 grains on my powder scale.......the correct shafts weigh 167-170 grains (not the superlight screw ups......3 feathers (5") weigh11 grains.....using a 167 grain shaft, a front and rear insert and 3 feathers results in a bolt that weighs 293 grains without a broadhead??? How are you guys getting 350 grain bolts??? Are your front inserts aluminum??? I will have to use a 75 grain broadhead to even get close to the 350 grain mark!! If I used vanes instead of feathers, the weight would increase by another 30 or so grains!!!

I have always used 2117 XX75 bolts up to this point.....with aluminum inserts and 3 5" feathers & no point, a bolt weighs 306 grains......same thing with 5" vanes weighs 336 grains..........doesn't look like I'll save much weight with the Gold Tips and that's why I bought them!!!

You have to lose the brass front insert for those weights I believe. Like mentioned on another post, mine are right around 360 with aluminum on both ends and 5 inch vanes. 100 grain point.

My 2117's are as follows
5. 2117’s
19 inch
427.5 grains.
5 inch vanes
100 grain point

But I do not have a good FOC with this setup. I need to change to brass insert up front and go to feathers. The 2117's that is. My Lazers have good FOC.

I made up some 19 inch 2115's with feathers and they have a good FOC.
