Flat nocks ? New crossbow hunter question......

I recently purchased a new Vixen. It came with Gold Tip Bolts that have a threaded aluminum insert on the vain end of the arrow. Is this considered a flat nock or do I need to screw a nock into this insert?

The threaded inserts work fine as a flat nock. That is what I use and from what I gather reading here,I think most others do too. There is also a T-handled tool you can buy as well that threads into that back insert to help pull your arrows from a target.

Hi and welcome , No nocks needed the screw in thread is if you get your bolt stuck and cant remove ,they have a tool that you screw in and pull your bolt out.

Yup, what the other guys said.

(Hopefully, the threaded insert doesn't pull out when you use the arrow puller. Several of my bolts had that problem!!)

Large tap holder and an old field tip work good as a puller.Tap handle from a tap and die set for repairing screws and bolts.

You can also use a gorilla grip to take bolts out of a target.
