Second Chance Buck !

Post by OneShot »

Went to Deckeville Michigan as uaual for the opener of deer season.

Passed up alot of deer, normal for the first day.

No sense in cutting the season short.

But with the unusual warm temperatures almost predicting the deer movement; we were prepared for the ultament response.

HUH warm weather , thirsty deer; maybe!

You bet!

Was almost content to sitting in the trailer with the AC on! relaxing watching baseball- NOT!

Decided that if I was thirsty them dang deer must be too!

So at 5: 00 PM I arrived at my treestand closest to the ditch with water in it, I would wait to see if a big buck or two might show.

After watching many deer santer by me, a substanial buck did indeed show up!

I waited almost patiently for him to get into position for a shot!

As I released the bolt ( ARROW ) I encontered a great pain to my nose.

The xbow was too close to the limb of the tree to be released!

Feeling a slight pain RIGHT- I quietly re-cocked the xbow and with a this time well placed shot well away from the tree I scored a double lung shot on the beast!

Watching the buck go down within 30 yards was a great joy!

SUCESS!

Fresh liver will be served Monday for lunch!

RSVP!
