Scope bracket screws loosening

Post by russm »

The hex head screws that hold the scope bracket on to my exocet have come loose twice now. that is two days in a row. The ones that loosen are the two on either side of the part of the trigger that holds the string.

I'm sure there must be a lot of shock in that area. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Can I go ahead and put some loktite on there?

Thanks again!

Ayep but use the blue not the permanent red type. Read the loktite tube and make sure as I do get my color's mixed up some time .... :D

Yea, be careful with the colors. Blue is medium strength, that's the one you want. Red is permanent and you won't be able to unloosen them again.
Also the color has to be the liquid in the tube of loctite. I've seen blue loctite in a red color tube. :?

You probably know this but be sure to put the loctite on the male threads of the screw and not in the hole. That could give you problems with your trigger.. Bill T explains this in the video.
