Urban doe

Post by buckeye »

Scored on a urban doe this morning. In Ohio we have 4 or 5 urban zones that allow you to harvest 4 extra antlerless deer a year. Dad and I went out this morning in an urban zone and had 3 does come up to me at about 8:30am. I shot one at about 30 yards with the new Exocet 200. WOW! After finding the bolt 20 yards beyond from where the doe stood we found her not more than 40 yards away. How I love to bowhunt.

Congrats on your urban deer. We have that same hunt here in Missouri. I just haven't been able to sweet talk anyone into letting me hunt in their backyard, but there's always next year. Best of luck to you this season.

Congratulations!!!!!!
Wish I lived within reasonable distance of an urban zone sometimes, but then there is always a chance I can find a landowner with "depredation" permits. Didn't find one yet this year, but they did up the limit to three deer in my zone. Haven't had much luck yet, but am starting to see a few signs of pre-rut activity now, so the deer should be moving soon!
