what would this be worth
Hi all, I'm new on the forum, I have been hunting with a compound for many years, but I what to get into crossbow hunting. I have a chance to buy a used exocet (10 years old), it has a scope, quiver, soft case, cocking aid, 4 bolts and is in very good shape. Any idea what that would be worth (canadian). And what should I look for in in terms of things worn out? thanks
check out the limbs for cracks or wear on the tips (assuming not the mag tips). The tips should be clean cut edges and not have string groves cut deep into it (incase someone used wrong string on carves tip limbs). Limbs can have what look like small cracks, normal, but if there are actual splinters or heavy cracks (this could mean miss use).
The trigger should be ok, but generally excal bows hold up great. Someone else could put a pricw on it for ya.
Hope this helps.

Check the limbs for cracks and delamination of the fiberglass limbs, any gouges in the limbs and stock. Is the trigger easy to pull, is the trigger sloppy. What scope does it have, Excalibur dropzone maxzone or a varizone or does it have a Tasco or other scope, is it a clear sight. Try shooting at 20,30 and 40 yards if you can.
If it meets all your standard about $350-$400 Can $450 tops if is like new.

Thanks for the tips, I won't get to see the bow again until sometime next week and I will get a digital picture. The owner is in our gun hunting party and got the bow when his father-in-law passed away several years ago. The current owner has never used it. It has been strung the whole time, will this effect the limbs. When I get a picture I may have to get someone to post it for me.
Thanks
