One of my friends is a weapons specialist with the local SWAT team, and he was telling/showing me his new tactical weapon. I asked him why they installed a verticle forearm instead of the traditional one, and he said it was easier to balance the weapon and the form used to hold it was more natural than placing your palm up. He calls it a "Ghetto Grip." This got me to thinking I bet it would work well on a crossbow that has more weight FOC than a traditional firearm would. In addition it would completely do away with any fear of fingers getting hit by the string. Well Mark was willing to give it a try, and let me tell you he is a master woodworker. Since installing my new stock my groups have tightened up to the point that I have ruined 3 different bolts all while shooting offhand/standing. The feel and balance is amazing. I can really use alot of force to hold the stock tight to my sholder which has really improved my followthrough. I would love to post some pics of it if anyone will let me send them to you via email. I cant post pics from here at work. I highly recommend Marks stocks and can assure you that if you order something from him you will not be disappointed with it. Good luck to all and I hope to be able to post a pic after this weekend of a good deer, my new stock, and a smile on my face...Exohuntr
The scope is a Simmons 3 dot. The "ghetto grip" is much more stable and is removable if you ever wanted to take it off. Personally I love it...Exohuntr
Thanks livtahunt I will...You may want to go back to shooting a verticle bow that sounds like a comment someone unimformed would make. I'll compare my accuracy with yours anytime you want. It is all about what is comfortable and improves your hunting. If you cant appreciate that then keep your mouth shut and move on...Exohuntr
The dropdown forestock has been around for quite some time. Many competition rifles have it as an option. I know old-kid made a stock 2 years ago with a similar piece on it and found that it worked great especailly when you had to hold/rest the bow in the shooting position for a long time waiting for the deer to get into the shooting lanes.
looks like it is positioned to far back for a good balance point and control...but I guess I would have to hold it to really tell...I agree Desertrat that would be a good stock for my wife also or a youngin..
