RUT ?

Post by Daniele »

How's everyone doing in SW Ontario?
Was out this morning and had more action that i ever had in years, maybe it was just a good day ( that it was, 8 Nov, 10degrees C no wind or rain ), by 8:30 i had 3 does, and three bucks by my stand, the bucks came in individually, and yes i got one of them, tagged out, hoping to fill my buddy's tag this week-end if he can make it up.
Good hunting, be safe.

Shotgunning?

Post by Daniele »

Hi DESERTRAT,
no i am not shotgunning, so far as i know our shotgun ( Controlled Hunt )
is the first week of December in Perth County, i am aware that Huron County has the first week of Controlled Hunt this week, the second will be in December.
Are you shotgunning? Wish you lots of luck if you are.
Personally i haven't shot my 12 Gge in quite some time, strictly Xbow, even if it means going without deer ( Which i did for two consecutive seasons ), i have nothing against controlled hunts, i just choose not to participate, however it really irks me that i am not allowed to participate in the hunt if i were to choose to do so with my Xbow; i fully understand the dangers of being in the woods with crowds armed to the teeth, i never entertained the tought for a minute that i would be out there at such time without my Hunter Orange as required.
Nobody seems to come up with a good reason about that issue.
Greetings, Daniele.
Good hunting, be safe.
