Need advice on calling them in

I was in my ground blind, and for two days in a row, I had a nice long chat with the local bucks. On the first day, one was in front of me, sounded like about 100-150 yards. I replied to his grunts with a doe call for 20 minutes. He moved around, but did not come out of the dense bush.

On the second day, I had a game call with me, and did a better job of imitating a doe. The same buck was in the same position. A bigger sounding buck was calling from a bit further away, and younger one was behind me, where I could not see, at about 50 yards.

I put out some doe urine on the second day before I started. I was talking to them for 40 minutes. They moved around, but did not come in to where I could see them. It was an awesome experience, but I would like to do more than chat.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How often did you call? Were you on the ground or in a tree?

I'd try calling less, just enough to get their attention and try rustling some leaves or breaking a branch so it sounds like a deer is walking about in your area.

There is probably another huunter right now telling his wife how he got answers but the buck never showed himself.

Try making them jealous. Insert a buck grunt once in a while.

Woodsman is right, its all about making the big boys jealous I don't even use a doe call I use a grunt call and rattling horns so far it has worked great for me

Every deer is different. Try changing up your call. I bought a 5 in 1 call that you can adjust to sound like a hot doe to a dominant buck. The weekend I got my buck I was stopping deer with the doe bleat and they would look, but it took a buck tending grunt to bring one in for a look, and a bolt in the side

. The tending grunt imitates a frustrated buck on the tail of a hot doe and she won't let him mount her. Brought in another buck who thought he may be the one she would want.

Try a few diiferent ones until you get a response.

I forgot to mention that I did rattle a bit, and I put out some grunts, when I was tired of making doe calls.

If there was another hunter, I would have heard him come in because he would have had to fly in by helicopter...and he better see a urologist, because that piss in his scrapes was pretty smelly.
