Help replacing limbs
Help replacing limbs
I need to replace my Exocet limbs. I stupidly dry fired my bow the other day and a little bit of the camo on the inside of one limb delaminated which suggests that something has been compromised. Is there a way to determine the condition of the limbs or will I have to replace them? Can I replace them my self? It looks like it should be easy. Any help or suggestions would be helpful.
Phone Excalibur and explain what happened, Bill may either replace the limbs for you, or he may replace them for a nominal fee. At the worst you can buy new limbs from bj at Archery "Plus" or from Archers Nook for a decent price.

Spear your bow should be able to survive a dryfire. The camo coming off does not have to mean that there is something drasticly wrong. If I was you, I would contact Sxcalibur at their service number or from their home page.

If your limbs need replacing, they would be able to not only help you, but speed things up for you. I think what you need to look for with the limbs is if there is cracking or large splinters coming from them. Or if the mag tips have been blown off.
Hope this helps

dry fire
Srear, I guess it may be which xbow you have. I dryfired my Exomax after I had it about 1 week, about 50 shots with it, and it cracked one limb and broke the string. I called the Excal number and as luck would have it the boss answered the phone. After I told him what I did and after getting reamed for it, he had a distributor send me a set of limbs and a new string and the directions on replacing at no cost. That kind of service is above and beyond what everyone else would do, and maybe he had just got a piece and was feeling good and normally would charge for the limbs or at least the shipping, but I am now a lifelong Excal shooter.

After 2 dry fires, (dumb!!) I saw one of the limbs had a splinter along the widest outside edge about 1/16 inch wide at it's widest point (the corner, not all the way through) and 2 1/2 inches long. I took a dremel tool and terminated the splinter, then contoured it with a sanding bit. I've shot it about 40 times since, no crack yet. I recently ordered a varizone scope for the exocet 200 and am curious to see how that will affect the accuracy with one limb slightly damaged.
Excalibur Varizone scope is a scope you only need sight in once with adjustment knobs, then set different weight bolts with a speed ring at the rear of the scope.

Big Mouth you have shown your true colours tonight. Sure you might know alittle about how limbs were made. But most on here can see through your clouded statement you made above.
Excalibur crossbows will not just blow apart with a dryfire like you say they will. they have been tested to stay together for over 20 times with the mag tips. That has been said on here in the forum by excalibur. As for how the limbs are made is not a secret, many from this forum had a tour of the site which showed how they are made.
Too bad you have no class and try to make sales and promote a product by missleading people. You are sounding like all these people (for a lack of a better word) that are trying to get elected to a government office. With your latest actions, I now believe that you do have a part in this bow and have copied parts from Excalibur. I sure hope that you are held accountable in the lawsuits just like the maker of these bows will be.
