Washing Camo Clothing...

Post by hockeyfodder »

I wondered if anyone on the forum could answer this for me.

I was recently given some excellent camo clothing by an older gentlemen who recently got sick and has decided he will not be hunting anymore.

Unfortunately his wife washed the clothing with regular washing detergent (Ibelieve just once).

I have washed it with the special detergent that protects it against UV damage etc.

Has it been damaged from the one wash or will it eventually rinse that whitener out of the fabric so I don't have to worry about it and can use it without worrying about the UV?

The clothes should be fine!! Many of us on here, including myself use regular detergent(unscented) and still manage to get close enough to shoot deer.

I wash my stuff with unscented detergent as well. I also add some Scent-Away forest scent along with the detergent. Smells forest fresh!

No problems so far with material fading or damaging. Ive had deer within 25yards of my stand

I wash mine in borax or baking soda. Never had problems with getting "busted".
