How to deal with SPAMMERS

Post by Tom »

Please do NOT respond to these posts. It has been said before about this and YES I know how much they can get under your skin, but if we do refrain from responding to them, they will disapear quickly.

Just let them fade to the bottom of the forum until Peter deals with them.

Also remember that with alot of these sites, just clicking on their links subjects your computer to cookies that can enable them to track your movements or watch your computer.

So lets please refrain from letting these spammers from interfering with our site.

Thanks again.

When they realize that we will not respond to click on their links, they will stop waisting their time on here.

The problem is this crap sits on our forum and isn't removed for days. We have our kids who view this site and are exposed to this crap. It's time to start tracking IP addresses and blocking spamers.

Peter is actually doing a very good job removing these spammers. But currently right now it is the latest thing in spamming. Since e-mails have been very efficent in blocking these leeches (for a lack of a better term) they have deceided to attack forums for their free addvertisements.

But by not clicking on their links, they can't get a cookie onto your computer to gain access to your e-mail or be able to track where you go when surfing the web. This is how these people make money.

OK..

I mentioned about a picture of a couple of nude women in another thread and basically some folks said "we have an adult forum here". Bull!!

If a porno operator comes on here and sees we have nude photos what is he to think? Yep, a prime place to post his garbage.

Bill T has been mostly hands off, but knowing Bill he will not like those pictures at all.

This has and should, always remain a family site that we can come and learn crossbow and hunting information without us, our wives and OUR KIDS being subjected to such garbage.

Some of this garbage is self inflicted.

Off my soapbox...
