bolt vane length

Post by Rich »

I just bought a six pack of Gold Tip II's, they had 5" vanes. Most all other brands had 4" vanes. Has anyone noticed a big difference when shooting, the color select was terrible at Bass Pro and I want to refletch and crest them. Plus the 4 inchers are easier to pull out of the target when the bolts are buried, less damage to the vanes.

I have 5" vanes on all my bolts. I haven't tried anything else so I don't know if either make a difference. But I think next time I have them fletched, I'm gonna try 4"

I'm having really good luck with 2" Blazer vanes and theyre much lighter than 4" and 5" vanes.
