What type of Broadheads for Turkey?

Post by Jackhunter »

I was just wondering what type of broadhead is better to use for turkey?
I wanted to try hunting turkey with my exomag this year.

Thank you,

Any hunting head that is legal and which has accuracy that you are happy with will work. But I will recomend that you add an arrow arrester of some kind to the arrow to stop the arrow in the bird.

I have found the Zwickey Scropio's to be the best. I have found that they will not effect accuracy and they are not expensive. They can be added or removed from the shaft for either turkey hunting or deer hunting, which ever you prefur.

There has been many threads on here dealing with this topic as well as the arrow arresters. Just do a search on arrow arresters and you might be able to learn alot more about them.

God luck and if you have more questions, just ask.

I've read alot in magazines and I've been told, that mechanical broadheads are the best thing to use for turkey hunting. The biggest name I hear and read about constantly is the NAP Spitfires. I will most likely be using them this spring.

Shannon used a tiny 75 gr. WASP 3 blade expandable on this bird it went about 9 yds after being hit, My thinking is use what works for you,ACCURACY KILLS. good luck on your turkey hunting :D
