Got the wife a mink.....

Post by wabi »

Actually two of the little critters. Just finished tanning them.
Caught them the last couple of nights of season, and with the size they would have both been graded as female (one was a male) and worth very little. I've been wanting to try home tanning, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to practice. Will she stunned when she opens the present and find she now has the basic ingredients for a luxurious coat (even if she needs a few dozen more to make it)

I bought my wife a blue fox coat 3 years ago and she's only worn it once.

It's been hanging up in the basement under plastic since then.

Believe it or not, all that is needed to make a nice mink hat is one pelt. So with two pelts you have, you can make a hat for each of you.
