Just hand scored my buck

Post by crazyfarmer »

im gonna get is scored by a offical b&c judge ths weekend at the hunting show in Richmond Va but Ive gotten 3 different scores by hand.

Just a quick score netted 124 6/8 with 10 2/8's in deductions

I scored it slower with the same tape and then got 130 4/8ths with 8 1/4ths in deductions

Then I tried the string method and got 134 1/8th with 10 3/8ths in deductions. Ill be happy with anything in the 125-135 range score wise. It suks since if this buck wouldnt have had the broken brow and 4inch shorter G2 on the left side then he woulda scored 144ish with like 4-5pts in deductions, so A possible 150 class buck. Oh well, ill take what mother nature gave me lol

ill keep everyone posted what he scores sunday but im expecting 125-130 B&C for a 8pt with 2 messed up tines. His longest main beam was 26inches, his logest pt was his G3 which was 10 7/8ths, and his thickest circum was 4 6/8ths. Small to most states, but a good buck in Va. Im expecting bucks in the contest to score 160-70s so mines gonna be a baby LMAO

Just posting cause im bored lol

Don't get me started on last year

I didn't get to hunt much last year due to work. First day I went (bow season) I arrowed a doe. That was the only shot I took all year

Here is my favorite buck from Va's season last year that I have seen... (if the link works)

Scored right at 200 B&C with a bow in Pulaski county.

Nice buck regardless of score. If he only scores 124 I still wouldn't saw the antlers off for rattling horns!

scott, thats one hellova buck! Espically with a bow.. im sure thats top 5 in the state easy?

wabi, i know man;) I just wish some things had matched better on his rack. If I had let him go, someone else mighta got him so how knows. Or I coulda killed him this year and scored 150+ with him LMAO.. thats hunting :D

I saw his dad or borther last year on the same farm, so he's on the list this year. I found his shed this spring so i know he's still there. This one should score 140's easy or better 8)

one of my friends just brought his by for me to take to the hunting show with mine. He killed his 3 days after mine with the muzzeloader. I scored his offhand and got 143gross, and 140net score from his. Mine was 144 gross and 134 net because of the damn reductions

but like ya said, score doesnt mean anything... 8)

this is my buddies buck im taking to the show with mine. Once again, I freehand scored this one 143 4/8 gross and 140 2/8ths net. The only thing that hurt this one was his short brows and G3's. The mass around the bass at the smallest point was 5 3/8ths! Inside spread was 21 2/8ths and outside was 23 7/8ths! This buck just looks awesome in person and had to be about 6-7years old! Its grey and all beat up from fighting lol. This one and mine were killed about 1mile apart also which was cool.

here are the pics
