SCENT CONTROL / REMOVAL

Post by SOUP »

FOLKS ,
I was wondering if anyone has ever used WASHING SADA / SAL SODA to kill scent in their hunting clothes . Also baking soda . Now keep in mind baking soda is sodium bicarbonate & sal soda is sodium carbonate . Sal soda is what they sell you, for a whole lot of money, in pool supply stores -they call it " PH UP " -used to raise ph in your swimming pool . Your Mother called it washing soda & it sells today for a couple pound box for about 1.75 or 2.00 . All of those scent removing products are relying on 90 % or more water . I wonder if you washed your clothes in sal soda & mixed up baking soda REAL GOOD with water & spray your clothes when dry if it would work . Everyone knows you put an open box of baking soda in the refrigereator to kill odor & even if you put the box right up to your nose there is no odor .
I'd really like to hear what you all think . Has anyone done anything along this line ?
Thank you in advance for your time & help .
Have a nice holiday .

never tried it, but no matter what you wont get rid of all your scent. I hunt with blue jeans and etc on under my camo pants and never really have any scent issues.

just play the wind right

I use Wildlife Research laundry detergent plus scent killer spray. I then top it off with BTD Cover Scent http://www.btdoutdoors.com . I'm a huge believer in the BTD Cover Scent after four years of using it.

I've used baking soda and never noticed deer getting spooked by it, I try to use the wind as my main source of scent control.
