2nd day out 2 deer in the freezer

Post by mdcrossbow »

Opening day Friday I went out and sat about 50 yards out to see where the deer were moveing on a new lease.
Saturday afternoon I went and found a decent tree to climb as I thought 4 doe's came in, the one I shot I had a blowing contest with for about 20 minites on friday evening so I waited for a shot on here. She was level with me on a hill and I had to give a gunt to get her to stop 25 yards out I hit her a little high and took out her spine and one lung she rolled down the hill to with in 10 yards of my stand.

Then I waited for another doe and I saw one comeing through the woods but then I sw a 4 point chaseing right behind her and then this guy emerged following the 4 point. I had a shot on him at 35 yards but passed , waiting for a closer shot. He then passed through some thicket and emerged on a trail next to a creek I again grunted and he stopped. I think I haa little deflection because I hit him a little back and cought the liver. Non the less good kill shot. Slicks did their job He was down insight at 40 yards. Nice 8 point, small point not shown and 18.5" spread
