Arrow Puller Specs

Post by DavidT »

Got a bolt stuck good in my target. Too cheap to buy a puller. Anybody know the bolt and thread spec for a puller to fit the threads on the nock end of a standard bolt? TIA.

Recently found a solution to stuck bolts.

That sticky rubber jar opener cloth helps get a good grip to yank them buggers out.

Sure beats pulling the nocks out of the back of the bolts with the arrow puller.

I like the Excalibur puller which screws into the back of the arrows, but it pulls out too many inserts. Dan Miller makes a nice one. Jack.

Shell out the 16 bucks and get one of Dan Miller's plier pullers.

They WORK LIKE A CHARM!

I got mine the next day!

Thanks guys, but I don't have enough bolt to work with a grip-type puller without hosin' the fletching on this one. Just need the bolt size that fits the threads on the nock end.

The Dan Miller Plier Puller works fine when employed BEHIND the fletching. You don't have to position it ahead of the fletching. Just grab the exposed shaft aft of the fletches, give a twist, and out she comes.

Just thought you might like to know. I've done it many times, with no ill effects.

I usually rub the shaft of the bolt with a bar of soap before shooting. Pulls out with your fingers no effort at all.

Can't twist it. Broadhead is Loctite'd on. Thanks for the soap tip though. Next time...

Get an old grain sack stuff it with old clothes. Your arrows will pull out with two fingers. You will never need an arrow puller or have to put soap on your bolts again.
