I just wanted to show off my first harvest with a traditional bow, even if it isn't a Monster.
... He's not a big buck, but he's my first with the recurve and it's a trophy to me!... 
Seeing that today was a nice sunny day, although it was a bit on the windy side but it was supposed to slow down in the evening so I decided to go to out for an evening hunt with the recurve. The spot I was planning to hunt is really thick/dirty, and the furthest I could shoot in there was 15 yards, which was perfect for the recurve so I took it with me for this hunt. I've never shot a deer with a traditional bow, so this year I wanted to take on that challenge and there wasn't a better spot for it as 15 yards was my maximum range with the recurve anyway.
I got to my tree at approx 12:30pm and by the time climbed the tree with the climber, get myself strapped in, and pull my gear up it was 12:55. The wind was blowing pretty good and the gusts were worse, and I started to think I was wasting my time hunting in this wind and the thought of packing it in came to mind but I was already there so I decided to stick it out for the rest of the day.
At 2:30 pm I pulled out the Quaker Boy Ridge Runner grunt call and waited for the wind to die down some for a moment and let out three grunts. Not even 5 minutes after I grunted, I could here something making it's way on one the trail in the dirty stuff and coming my way. Now he is only 20 yards away, and I could see him through the dirty stuff rubbing his antlers on a small poplar. Then he lets out a grunt and walks out in my 15 yard shooting lane, that's when I drew, picked my spot and let the 2216 tipped with a 125grn 2 blade Magnus Stinger go. I heard it connect and saw my arrow's POI and my arrow fletching buried themselves right where I wanted it. Right then I knew it was a good fatal hit as the buck kicked up both back legs, ran about 10 yards from where he was hit and his legs buckled right from underneath him.
When I walked up to him, I was suprised to see that I got a clean pass-through as my arrow didn't hit one rib, not on entry, and not on exit. It went in between two ribs and came out between two ribs on the other side. Man what a feeling!...
I have taken a couple over the years and still remember my first one
