First deer of 2006

Post by Adam »

heres my first deer of the year. it kinda sucks i havent gotten out much because im working full time now. last year was excellent because i would always take off from last period to get into my stand for the evening. i got this guy (button buck) on sunday and he came in with 5 does responding to my bleats, grunting and rattling followed by a fawn in distress call 10 min later. i got into my stand at 4:30 pm which was really like 5:30 due to the time change but i gave it a shot anyway and im glad i did. i realized how well my quad works for hauling out a deer as well. it was definately a good buy.

He sure is a beaut. Make sure you tell your boss to book you in for some anual leave, like now for next year, he cant say no to that with notice well in advance.

Congrats Adam,

I know work always gets in the way of hunting

I have to go back for 9pm tonight after having the week off & not seeing any deer (can't say I did not try though.....just ask my wife  )

Very nice deer for the freezer. What kind of Quad do you have Adam?

I'd be lost without mine, our property is very hilly, and to be alone dragging out a deer would be almost impossible.

Love my quad.

i got a suzuki eiger 400 and it was a breeze hauling it out. the hardest part was getting the deer loaded onto the quad alone. i am already taking a week off for the shotgun hunt in dec. i just try to get out as often as i can.
