Another one of God's creatures

Post by afd34744 »

Just decided to join after lurking around for 6 yrs. You guy's are the reason I bought my Exocet in 2000. Set up on the edge of my wood line overlooking 56 acres of standing corn on Saturday morning. Caught him 50 yrds away crusing inside the wood line. Grunted twice to get him to stop. On the third grunt he started heading my way. Took the shot when he stopped 10 yrds quartering towards me. Hit him behind the left shoulder. I could see my bolt sticking out as he took off. Could not find a blood trail so I doubled back to where I took the shot, gathered my thoughts and started over. Found a faint blood trail, then I fould 10" of my bolt. Blood trail really picked up. Found him piled up by the stream 80 yrds from my stand. Beautiful 150lb 8pt. I usually use 2319's with 125 grain Muzzy. First time I have used Carbon bolts with 100 grain Rage. A little disapointed that the bolt broke but the Rage did the trick. I will try to post pictures once I figure it out.

Good job shooting & tracking! Nice buck.
