Second rut

When should the second rut hit this area? I'm guessing any time now. Man I hate Mondays. It's a whole five days until the weekend again :x .

This past weekend (Nov 24,25,26) I saw more scrapes than I have all hunting season. I 've been hunting almost every weekend and I can tell you these were new scrapes. Even just walking to my stand I saw at least 6 scrapes that were not there before.

Bring your doe bleat and plan on this weekend. Should be good weekend for the second rut that runs about 26-Dec.2.
Good luck. I'll be out then myself Exbow, and next week in 82a for the late season M/L hunt to fill my extra tags.

R.J. I was out scouting in my area (89). The old scrapes aren't used as wel las the rubs. The rain has decreased their movement. This monday is round #2 for the controlled deer (shotgun) hunt. I hope the rut is still on after the gun hunt. Ray.

My buddy saw a big buck with a doe out in an open field yesterday at 11:30 in the morning.

I counted at least a dozen scrapes on my property yesterday. There was also rubs to be found and fresh deer tracks everywhere.

The intent was to do a hunt this weekend but my buddy who holds the last remaining tag was called away on a last minute business trip. Bummer!

Should be good during the Christmas holidays though and hopefully we will have snow on the ground by then.

I've seen action pick up in the last few days. I saw a big ten-pointer following 9 does yesterday morning from my picture window. It was gun season this weekend but is over at sundown...right about now. I don't gun hunt, but it's bow season again tomorrow. 8)
