A LOOOOOOONG Drought Ends!

Post by OneShot »

Finally!

After a dreadful bow season and shotgun season, we got some deer.

It all started as a bad joke, then turned to bad luck or maybe bad choices.

Each time I chose a treestand , the hollow hairs would enter the field from under another stand.

Then the standing joke ; they would all hangout next to my Jeep and some even relieved themselves on my new Michelins!

After having almost every fawn in two counties all around me; I decided it was not in dacards!

But in muzzel loading season with only one shot, I have finally claimed us some meat for the winter.

Saturday night a mature doe came within my wheelhouse (200 yards or so) and with lots of luck it fell victim of My Remington 700!

Elated ; the long year drought was over.

Then again Sunday night in the very same stand 25 deer came accross the corn stubble , eight good sized bucks in the group.

Only they stayed far enough away for an hour to make me crazy.

Half an hour before legal shooting time ended , as if on a rail one presented me the same 200 yard pose!

Man can't wait until next weekend !

Oneshot......

Way to go Oneshot. I know the feeling, have been too busy at work to spend much time hunting. I may be making tag stew.

Congrats, just wondering what bullet you were using out of your Rem. muzzleloader. How was the bullet performace on them nice looking deer, especially at 200 yards.
