Another Weight Question

What's the weight difference between a 4" vane and a 4" feather?

3 - 4" vanes weigh 25 gr about 3 to 1
Is that PER feather/vane or is that for 3 of them?

Thanks :)

Because I like 4" Vanes, but now that I have my own fletchin' jig I might give some feathers a try for next hunting season.

Or I might strip my Gold Tips and replace the vanes with feathers to increase the FOC, and use 125gr heads in front, to make up for the loss of weight. Should hopefully make a bit of a difference to the FOC issue on my Excal Gold Tips.

Tye. I know the some folks on here use feathers. However, having tried 4" Gateway feathers, (got them for my Bear Kodiak recurve) I find that aren't as durable when used with crossbows. Especially when they "plough" through the target.

You might want to only buy a few just to see what you think of them.

I won't be using them for practice. I would just sight them in quick before hunting season.

I wouldn't use them for practice and stuff because they just get ruined, like you said.

Once I tried blazers I haven't used anything else since. They stabilize any broadhead I have experimented with and are the toughest vane hands down.
