Making your own fletching

Post by Tar Heel »

Got a turkey yesterday and saved the wing feathers thought i might try to make some fletching.
Can anyone tell me how, why is the right wing better than the left is it because it curves naturally to the right.

As a recureve archer of many years, it makes no difference, as long as you use the same. Right or left, it makes no differnce, just make sure your consistent.

you can use either for a straight fletch.Right twist you have to use right wing ,left twist you have to use left wing. split them with a razor blade and put them in your chopper.if you don't have one go to three rivers archery they have it all.

Tar Heel,
Footed Shaft sent this web site to me. I think it will explain what you need.
Sorry I can not post the site .
www.bowyersedge.com
Look under Barred for life.
Also look up www.tradgang.com and look under how to.

Lots of good info. A big thanks to Footed Shaft for this info.
