My Deer Cart

Post by Maritimer »

As I am getting older I thought it was time to make a game cart. :D I used the front forks and tires from a couple of bicycles (20 inch tires) and I made the frame from electrical conduit and then I bolted it all together. Where the hinges are I used 2 pieces of flat stock and I used some webbing that I had collected over the years, that is why I never throw anything away. The total cost was 28 dollars and it works great, I pulled 3 deer out with it this year.

I like it! :) 8)

Very good production. Back yard resources at it's best.
And you even got to test it!

GaryL I was really happy I made it, for I shot a buck about 1/2 mile away from the truck this year up a old logging road. Once I got it loaded on to the cart it took no effort at all to bring the deer out. It paid for itself, save me from having a heart attack.

I like the cart, we made one along the same lines but out of aluminum tubing we had laying arround. I also like the building in the background, looks real nice, always have had a thing for board and batton buildings :D

Well I just saw the cart on homeade stuff, now here. I'll coment here also and say great job! By no means does it look homeade. Looks plenty strong enough and I like how it packs down small.

Maritimer,

Nice cart, I am in the process of collecting the material to build one of those myself :D

The one thing you can look at doing to help with folding up your cart is to go to a bicycle shop & get the quick release axles & skewers for those wheels & then it will pack totally flat & no tools required to assemble etc.

Great job! I will be ready for a new cart soon. I hope I can make one as nice as yours when it's time.
