Post by northbaydude »

Hi everyone.... I just got an Exocet 200 with right stuff pack+scope....can't wait to shoot it ....I live in North Bay and I am looking for advice on anything and everything for deer hunting.... topics ranging from but not limited to: Tree stands, tree harnesses, practice shooting, safety, camos, any other gear involved, do's and don'ts, etc..

Anyone from North Bay ON on this forum? I would love to connect with any groups or individuals in the area. I am determined to go out hunting this 2007. Thanks.

Dude,

Stick around this forum, read a lot, and ask questions whenever they occur to you. These things will go a long way to making you a decent and knowledgeable crossbow hunter. Your own experience in the field and on the practice range will do the rest.

Welcome, and remember, deer season is not that far away. Practice.

I am fairly new to deer hunting also. I read all the posts here, at AT hunting and xbow sections. Then when I have time I go to the end of the posts here and read them back towards number one or the present. I don't read them all just the ones that catch my attention.

As a fellow beginner I have found getting close to the deer is the most difficult part of the task. These things are easy to shoot but the range is only 0-50 yards at the outside.

I also have read several deer hunting books that seems to help also. I have killed one doe so far, I have about three weeks to get a buck and another doe.

If you use the search bar you will also find a ton of useful info on anything. When I started up recently I took an afternoon just searching through all of the things I needed to know about, and now I can say I have a basic understanding of some of this.

I have problems with the search on this forum. I get a list but everytime I read a thread I can not back up to the list again. Do you have this trouble?
