Nice pictures and view.

About your shelter/camp, you leave it up all winter?

What about the snow built-up on the cover? I seem to see that you built walls from the inner shell. Did you do the same for the ceiling?

Yes we do. As you can see, we have the roof reinforced and it's insulated, and we have a wood stove.

Lou. Looks like one of those portable garages that Costco was selling. Correct?

Yeppers, but that was the easy part. Building floor, side and end walls, and gabling the roof took a bit of time, especially when non-carpenters like buddy and I were doing it, but we managed.

We would of built it differently (not Costco garage), but initially the land owner had said that we had to tear it down yearly. When he saw the work we put into it and that it wasn't ramshackled, he allowed us to keep it up year round. That's when we "went to town" with roof gabling, electrification, insulation, shelving, painting, and moved the stove to the back wall, instead of next to the front door, and more. Actually these of 2004 pics, we've added covered alcove on the side of porch, for more storage and propane barbeque since then..

Yes it is a comfy shack. It's a home away from home, where not only can we get away from our wives, but it's a great place to visit our "girlfriends".

However, since they prefer younger bucks, of the 4 legged variety, they don't make for good bed partners, so we have to go home to our wives, once in awhile.

Would that be the inflatable variety?

Allan,

Are you talking about our "girlfriends" or our wives.

In either case the answer is no, since with the former, it's a bit hard to inflate them once we punch holes in them with our arrows, and with the latter, after inflating her several times, I decided three extra mouths to feed was more than enough. So my inflating days are over.

Comfy : Cool shots ! Great looking property ! .... I like the way you did the fall and winter shots ! ....

Is that another tree stand location in the top RH portion of the 1st fall frame ?

Is that the property where you have the tree stand you posted awhile ago , the one you said looks like a " tree house without walls ! "

Anyway .... cool shots ... looks like an awsome spot !

Yes, but we don't hunt it, anymore, it's in a small clearing, and too much in the open. Two years ago I had a deer only 15 yards away behind some brush, I ended watching it for 15 minutes, but it never gave me a shot.

Yes, actually we now have quite a few permanent tree "house" stands. Three of my favorites are shown below.

Below is the one without walls.

Below is another one not too far from the one above.

Below same as above , but now with a Roof.

Below is the one from which I took the first four pics I posted.
