Ted Nugentism

Post by John Wade »

FROM ROCK STAR TED NUGENT:

Nugent, an avid hunter, was being interviewed by a French
journalist. The journalist asked, "What do you think the last thought
is in the mind of a deer before you shoot it? Is it, "Are you my
friend?"
or is it "Are you the one who killed my brother?"

Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking.
All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going
to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very
much like the French."

Was Teddy inferring that the French like their food, are preoccupied about "S E X", and are lousy fighters. I suppose there would be quite a few folks who'd jump on that bandwagon.

You've got to love uncle Ted. Fred Bear is possibly the greatest outdoor song ever.

Artist: Ted Nugent
Song: Fred Bear
Album: Spirit Of The Wild
[" Spirit Of The Wild " CD]

There I was back in the wild again.
I felt right at home, where I be-long.
I had the feeling, coming over me again.
Just like it happened so many times be-fore. eh.
The Spirit of the Woods is like an old good friend.
Makes me feel warm and good in-side.
I knew his name and it was good to see him again.
Cause in the wind he's still a-live.
Oh Fred Bear
Walk with me down the trails again.
Take me back, back where I be-long.
Fred Bear
I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
and I'll join you in the big hunt before too long
before too long.
It was kinda dark, another misty dusk
it came from a tangle down be-low.
I tried to re-mem-ber everything you taught me so well.
I had to de-cide which way to go.
Was I a-lone or in a hunter's dream.
Cause the moment of truth was here and now.
I felt his touch I felt his guiding hand.
The buck was mine forever more!!
Oh Fred Bear
Walk with me down the trails again.
Take me back, back where I be-long.
Fred Bear
I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
and I'll join you in the big hunt before too long
before too long.
We're not alone when we're in the great outdoors
We got his spirit We got his soul
He will guide our steps and our arrows home
The restless spirit still roams
Oh Fred Bear
Walk with me down the trails again.
Take me back, back where I be-long.
Fred Bear
I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
and I'll join you in the big hunt before too long
before too long.

God, I love that song. You guy's should read his book, Blood Trails. It makes for some good time spent when you can't make any yourself.
I used to go to the whiplash bash NY eve in Detroit. Great times, he rode out on a buffalo at the beginning of one and shot a flamer at Saddam at the same concert.
We would be so lucky as to have such a great spokesperson for our sport as they do (US) in him.

In the early 90's I was the Ontario Director for his Magazine "World Bowhunters"....sat shoulder to shoulder with him a few times. His wife Shermaine wanted my wife Patti to star in one of her" Rock And Roll " workout videos, unfortunatly they lost contact.
Those were very exciting moments for us for sure.

i can remember when he was with the amboy dukes. at the tender age of 16 i would really enjoy the instrumentals like cannonballs. and my all time favorite "white buffalo" uncle ted is nothing short of an icon. a hero in many peopls eyes. i think as hunters, even though he controversial, he still a very effective and positive spokeman.

he's not, I just cant hunt zebra's and etc over water holes like some of them do. But hunting is different over their.. one reason I dont hunt there:-P

he doesnt do anything against the law.. just a different style of hunting and as always its to each their own;) Kind alike why some people like certain Nascar drivers over the other. All are good, just we dont like some for stupid reasons

For anyone who received the KW Record, The Nuge is in it today - I think the celebrity gossip section on a back page. I'll see if I can find a link to it.

It would appear that the Canadian press is equally inaccurate as the American. here's a quote from the man himself.

for the record, all on tape & film, there was no AK47 or anything resembling 1 & my only immigration statement was that WANGO TANGO was the official immigration themesong. These lefties are terminally inebriated on dishonesty. so be it.
