Exomax Arrows

Post by Swede »

I am trying out different arrows with my Exomax. How thin arrows can I use with it? Would be glad if I could get answer in milimeter. I would not like to do a dryfire because I use too thin arrows :(

Thanks for your fast reply.

I have emailed Excalibur a while back without an answer. So I thought maybe you guys where faster
I will never go under 350grains but I am doing some experiments with different arrows for long distance (100m) target shooting. Would like to try some thin...long ones. But I dont know how thin I can go.
But I know I will finaly get an answer from Excalibur. They do always reply on my questions. Great service but I am a bit excited in trying off some things I have calculated.

Swede some of the guys and gals do shoot 2117's however have not seen or read a post of 2117's being used with a ExoMax. I would think 21xx might be as small as one might want to go with Dia/od. Much smaller and string jump might be a possibility ....

I used 2117 in my Emag and they worked well, I used them when shooting 3D targets. Emag was just a bit slower than the Max but only by 20 fps.

Excal says minimum diameter is .300 inch which would be 7.62mm.
For aluminum arrows that would be anything above a 20** series.

At one time I was given (50) 2213 Easton arrows-free (lucky me). Our Exomax pushes these out at about 353 fps with 100 grain tips. Overall weight is about 352 grains with feathers and carbon rear insert and aluminum fronts. The max has never complained and flight characteristics are good.
