The Vari-Zones are reasonablely priced, and work well, that's what makes them a success. As far as the new illuminated Vari-Zones, I suppose time will tell if they'll give just as much bang for the buck.

I have a Simmons with an illuminted scope , & you now what I haven`t found a time yet that I need it Illuminted .
So I think the new will ware off fast .
Oh yes the simmons is on a 30-06 rifle , not a X bow .
