Arrows!
As some of you know; I just got an Exomax from Isrpm.... it comes with
-260 gr Gold Laser IIs
-85 gr Crimson Talons
Thats only a 345gr arrow. I'm thinking about going with far larger arrows for hunting, and keeping these for target practice.
I was talking to TYE he recommends a Beman Thunderbolt, 125 Hammer SST combo. Thats a 455gr. arrow.
or a 2216 with 125 Hammer SST... thats also 455gr.
I was also considering a 2219 with 125 Hammer SSTs.... thats 503gr. I believe.
Any other recommended combos? any comments on the ones above?

Like I told you, it's mostly personal preference with everyone.
I think using a light bolt will be hard on the Exomax.
With my Phoenix, the Beman's / 2216's with 125gr. Wasp Hammer's fly like darts out to 65 yards (not that I would shoot at an animal from that far).
If I had an Exomax, I would shoot a 2216 bolt with either 100 or 125 broadhead, and I would probably use a Dacron Flemish Super String. Just MY 2 cents.

Rage . . .I'm in the same boat as you and I'm currently researching the difference in bolts. Tye is right, there isn't much difference in the bolts. The Exomax does add some stress, however, I don't think it's a matter of life or death(for the deer). With that said, this spring I want to determine what bolt fits me best. I'm leaning toward a heavier bolt for stability and will most likely use blazer vanes in the 1.5" or 2" length. I am currently shooting the Gold Tip II's with brass inserts ,4" vanes and 100 grain tips. The target tips work extremely well, however, I have experienced some crazy things with the fixed blade broadheads. I might even experiment with the mechanical broadheads . . .will need to double band them. I did kill two deer with two bolts this season with no complaints. However, I had a couple of the 100 grain wasps fly 4" off one way or another for no apparent reason while target practicing. They shot fine, then crazy . . .I think it was the oscillation and/or wind. 4" can make a big difference and if I can shoot a little different bolt and make them hit two inches closer . . .well, I'll do it.
You will love the Max. Congrats on a great deal.
See the other thread.

I'd rather wear out than rust out.
