Hang in there, Tigerpaw. I can't believe someone called the law on you. How did they even know where to send them?

Those were some awesome bucks you got!

Can i ask how anyone would of been able to call the MNR on you, by your forum name "TigerPaw" and the location as Ontario? How would anyone track you down by this very minimal information? Am I just not that smart with computers? I find that a little difficult to understand!! For all i know any forum member on here could be a next door neighbour that i dont speak to! How did this happen TigerPaw?

I was thinking the same thing how is anyone on this site going to find out where you live unless you tell them. Big bucks make some people do some crazy things. May have been a nieghbour or even a jealous gang memeber. I've never experienced this but my friends uncle had a run in witha guy who hunted for years in a gang never got a buck. Guys uncle shoots a huge buck and then it all begins. Guy calls mnr and says the deer was shot at night, mnr shows up at uncles place. Guys uncle is charged. Was told he could pay fine up front or take it to court. Decides to fight it as it was shot legally. Goes to the case and finds out the mnr's informant is the guy who hunted in the gang for years, turns out he was a little jealous and didn't realize how far it would go by telling the mnr. Anyway case was dropped and the gang is one member shorter. Never realized till I heard about this that you can be charged just by someone calling mnr. The ministry doesn't even ask of proof just by word.

Just so I understand. I'm not sure if I remember this right but didn't you post that you would rather not tag an animal until after you took the pictures and so now someone phoned the mnr on you? Is that the deal?

Sorry I know you deserve a much better explanation then that! I had a few bad apples, (MEMBERS of this forum) get so upset over the luck I had this year that they called the law on me.

I had no problem with the officers because they are only doing the job we pay them to do. BUT......... I did get angry at the fact that I thought the members of this forum were upright, hardcore, honest, self confident hunters and yet a few got so jealous that they felt need to try and get me in trouble!!!! Anyway things turned out as they should. I told the MNR the truth and they were stand up guys about the whole thing. I had nothing to hide and in this case the truth prevailed.

I said to the one officer that if they were forkhorns that were taken they would not even be at my place! ( they agreed. )

So there it is! That is why I am going to hunt my place alone this coming season. I will take the saw and tractor out past the back beef cattle pasture and work on a number of trails that should get you and your 4x4 mule out to some real good deep woods deer hunting come 2008.

I have always thought that us Crossbow hunters held ourselves to a higher standard. I went through a number of years with only a doe or nothing at all but I never felt the need to stoop so low as to try and get another crossbow hunter in trouble with the law just because he or she did better then I that year.

I admit it hurts to learn what jealousy does to a man.

Let me know if you get this pm I feel that you deserve a honest answer to why my offer for this season was changed.
i think he posted the "private message" here to make us aware of the situation

Summer. Not that hard to locate him. He has mentioned his area in previous posts and the population isn't that large in his area. That and the fact he is ex-OPP and now a nurse barrows it down.

No problem Tigerpaw. I'm still "standing" in your corner. I'm not sure how your pm got got posted here but its problably good to let everyone know the truth about what happened. It also doesnt take a rocket scientist to fiqure out who made the"call". Anyway they cost me a good hunting trip and I'm really P----- about that! I guess I can wait till the next year (2008) if my health holds out.
you know..."what comes around goes around!!!!" And I don't normally wish bad things on anyone, but I hope they get theirs this year!!!

A.W. . . you are right . . .the smaller the area the easier to find. And there was a good bit of information posted. However, I would be amazed if anyone could prove Tigerpaw did anything wrong. Therefore, it's a BIGTIME waste of tax payer money to send the law out there. The person that sent the law . . .probably not even a tax payer.

That's a shame!! Be careful what you post. I should probably heed my own adivce. :?
