Opening day in Louisiana

Post by BigTiny »

Tomorrow is the first day of turkey season here and my first day turkey hunting. I've practiced the calls for a week and I'll start out where the turkeys plague me during deer season. I'm as green as it gets, so wish me luck.

Well, I'd like to tell you how I mopped up on those turkeys today, but....
I did manage to call up two gobblers who wouldn't come into range and saw a nice big shed buck. The second spot I tried was all hens all day long. They got so close I could have wrung some necks, but hens aren't legal to harvest here yet. Probably try them again on Monday.
