Strings by BOO

Post by sumner4991 »

I recieved a string yesterday from BOO. He wanted me to test his serving against the teeth of my Exomax.

The moment I took the string from the package, I could easily tell the workmanship was far superior to the strings off the retail shelves. The serving looked extremely tight, packed hard and tied off solid. I was impressed just by the sight of it.

After placing the string on my Exomax and taking a quick 20 shots. I'm awe struck. I shot from 30 yards with a standing rest from my Weber Grill. I hit the one inch bulls everytime. I normally am a darn good shot, but, I have never been as accurate as I was this a.m. My groups had to be less than a quarter inch.

Now for the good news. The serving was as clean as it was when I took it from the package. The store bought servings will show teeth marks after the first five shots. I'm keeping a shot log on the serving and I can't wait to see how many shots this serving will take.

OK . . .I'm waited till last to tell you guys this little surprise. I noticed upon pulling the trigger the first time with the new serving, it was cleaner. The tighter serving allowed for a much improved release. Which is probably why my groups looked so good today.

Here are the pictures after 20 shots. . .I'll update the pictures as the testing progresses. I normally shoot around 15-20 shots per day.

Update . . .I've gotten 80 shots on this string now and it's holding up very well against the Exomax. I'm still very impressed with Boo's string.

Here is a picture after 60 shots . . .I'll update again after 120 shots.

It never occured to me that you guys with your Exomax machines should turn your strings every once in a while. Take the string off and turn both ends the same direction half a turn. That should extend the life of the serving.
Thanks for the kind words!

:D Thanks BOO that is a great tip. I put my 85 shot thru my VORTEX today while testing at long range, I have waxed the string HEAVY every 20 shots and there are no ware marks, granted my rail is coated , but your center serving is by far the best I have ever used , YOU the MAN !! :D

Does the number of bundles matter as long as the string count is the same??

Three bundles are supposed to be stronger. I have no facts but that is what I've read. It is also referred to as being "theoretically stronger". The practical reason for a three bundles is for appearance.

Update . . .here is a picture after 122 shots. Still looking good. I expect to get over 200 shots at this point. The "off the shelf" retail servings would be history by now. They start seperating, then the trigger hooks start hitting the string and the serving must be replaced. Boo's serving is as tight as it was when I took it out of the envelope.
