Moose with a Tumour

This is just one of the photos I shot over the weekend,, sorry it's a bit dark, but this poor fella has quite the tumour growing on his side..

I hope that's a tumor and not some new tick! I watched 8 episodes of Planet Earth on Discovery Channel yesterday, and I don't think there's anything out there that would surprise me at this point!

If I had my guess (not seeing it close-up) I'd think it is a wound with granulation tissue (proud flesh) around it. Just a guess, but an educated one...

I see the tumor on his side, i was just amazed at the growth on the side of his head, im assuming thats the start of his antlers however i just thought it looked weird. Guess thats because i have never seen a pic like that before.

I was thinking a wound as well. Or a large benign tumour.
