Post by Dunn14 »

i went to try out my bow yesterday, got ready, took my first shot and it made a different sound when I shot it. I looked at the target and saw nothing, then i realized i had dry fired my bow  . everything looks fine except a hair-line crack about an inch long on the one limb :( . wow did i feel stupid

There are those who have dry-fired, those that will dry-fire and those that have but won't confess! LOL!

PM Bill T and see what he thinks you should do before you shoot it again.

Hello,

Send it in if there's a hairline crack. Don't take chances with that much power!. I had a dryfire last year, about 2 weeks before opening day, and sent in to Excalibur. They curteously installed a new limb, freeeee!!!

I just don't understand how someone could shoot a bow without having an arrow in it?

Talk to Bill T before you take it in and have to buy a limb. I believe that he will be glad to help a new 14 year old hunter out. He once sent me a new set for my wolverine that had paint letting go from the resin on the limbs. And $0.00 was the shipped to me price.

I just had the same thing happen before turkey season with my max. Excalibur replaced the limbs for me. Just because you can only see a crack in one limb doesn't mean the other one isn't damaged. The folks at excalibur understand that people make mistakes........Just don't make a habit of it.
