OT / Dishonest employee

Post by raydaughety »

It has gotten back to me that one of our employees has been falsifying the hours on his timesheet. So, I called him up last week and asked him to meet me for lunch. I sat him down and told him that I knew what was going on and he apologized and promised that it wouldn't happen again. He informed me that he had an appointment that afternoon and asked if he could leave an hour earlier and I said OK.

Now, I'm sitting here doing payroll and got to this guys timesheet and could not believe my eyes. On the day we went to lunch, he reported to work at 7:00 am ( we don't open till 8:00am ), he reported NO lunchbreak, I BOUGHT HIM LUNCH, and on top of that, he reported that he worked 3 hours overtime that day. When I first saw this, one thing came to mind. One of those butt pullers from Cabela's   It really sucks when you give someone a second chance and they ruin it for themselves. Anyone looking for a job ?

I hope that appointment he had was a job interview somewhere else!

That is theft, you may want to look deeper to see what other things he has been up to.

I agree, someone that bold usually has more than one "project" going.

I'm a Mr. Softie by nature and don't like having to fire someone. However, this cat has crossed the line. We're going to keep him for another week, someone that stupid will screw up again quick. I can't go into detail but the trap has been set, let's see how long it takes him to take the bait

Sorry to hear this guy has behaved that way.

Let's hope he sees the error of his ways and straightens up!

Cause we're one big family here, buddy. Same reason we read about Ray's back problems and saxmans surgery and even Tye's girlfriends. There's more to everyones lives here than hunting and some of us care.

Good point, TPM!

I don't think this forum would be what it is if we didn't freely post off-topic stuff about our daily lives! There is a friendly family atmosphere here.

It's a forum with a difference, Xeon!

You might not see a need for every post, but that's OK. Just read on and be part of things ... live and let live.

This is a great bunch of guys. Ray was just venting ... something we all need to do sometimes. Nothing wrong with that. :)
