New Crossbow

Post by Jasper »

I just got my first Crossbow and I'm having a hard time with the red dot sight . I keep hitting left of the target even after I adjust the sight. The height is good. Any tricks I should know?

This may sound silly and you have probably already done this but did you adjust the windage?

Yep. I keep getting the same results even after adjusting. Could I be pulling left? Never had a problem with open sights on a rifle.

Jasper,

It could be the way you are cocking the crossbow. Are you cocking by hand or with a cocking rope? Often when people cock by hand the string is not centered as one arm is usually stronger than the other. To check you can mark the serving on both sides of the rail and if the xbow is cocked properly you should see both marks. One on each side of the trigger unit. To mark a string with a black serving you can use whiteout. I reserve with gold serving and use a black permanent marker.
