Funnels and Saddles
I have read in magazines, on Forums and heard on hunting shows, to find a good Funnel or Saddle what are they referring to?

Motuna,
A Funnel is a narrow strip of cover that connects two larger tracts of cover and a saddle is a low spot in a ridge line. Brad Herndon's Mapping Trophy Bucks is a pretty good read on the subject of reading and interperting how topo map features affect deer movement.

Funnels are any type of terrain that directs, pinches or "funnels" deer through a specific area. Examples are a narrow strip of woods that connects 2 feeding areas/fields, spot in creek/river where deer can cross, hole in fence where deer can slip through, the only trail along a steep ridge that deer can travel, etc. Concur with HH, Mapping Trophy Whitetails is an excellent book.
