Cost of License

Post by Golden Eagle »

Just wondering what others pay for License's. I got mine tonight.
36.00$ That is for a general hunting license and an Archery Stamp.
I can kill 1 Buck with this license, 2 Turkeys [1 Spring and 1 Fall] and lots of Small Game which I no longer hunt. Also Coyotes, Fox, Groundhogs ect. which I do hunt but not much.

I think it is a real bargain for the amount of time I spend in the Woods.

You can spend that much for 1 golf outing, which I sometimes do.

Ditto for me, except I added a ML stamp $11 & have applied for two antlerless tags at $6 each(they cashed the 1st check so far).

Good luck!

Same as Brainiac  Of course I'd much rather pay whatever amount the state would like to have my health and not need the disability license.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

Resident annual license (required in addition to other permits for all hunting or trapping) - $19.00

Deer permit - $24.00 each (I can purchase up to 3 permits - good for buck or doe, but only one buck per year can be taken)

Antlerless deer permit - $15.00 each (I can purchase up to 3 antlerless permits, but I must purchase a regular deer permit first - good for antlerless only in the early archery season only Sept 29 to Nov 25)

Spring (2) or fall (1) turkey permits - $24.00 each

Fur taker permit - $15.00 (required to hunt or trap furbearing animals in Ohio)

I buy the annual license in February (good Mar 1 to Feb 28) then add permits as season arrive.
So far this year I've purchased the annual license + 2 spring turkey permits ($19. + 24. + 24. = $67.) I'll buy a regular deer tag and an antlerless tag soon ($24. + 15. = $39.)
If I want to take 6 deer it would take 3 regular permits $72. + 3 antlerless permits $45. for a total of $117.
For fall turkey add another $24.
If I hunt or trap (I will trap) furbearers add another $15.
To fish add $19.
To hunt migratory waterfowl add $30. ($15. state + $15 federal)
So to do it all would cost $245.

Bob,
We must be getting old. I can remember buying a $5. hunting & trapping license, a $5. fishing license, and a $3. duck stamp and being good for anything.

Basic license: $15

Big Game License: $14

Archery permit: $10

Turkey Permit: $5

Trapper license: $5

That gives me 6 deer (3bucks, 3 does), 2 turkeys, squirrel, dove, unlimited year-round hogs, quail, coyote, and bobcat. Plus all varmint species like nutria, beaver, coon, possum, crows, etc.. Duck stamps and alligator tags cost extra. I don't hunt ducks because my wife won't eat them and since I gave my boat away, gators are out as well.
