old and new riser interchangable ?

Post by lisa »

ive got the opportunity
to buy a 2005 vixen deluxe with
the old style ( not forward but 180 degrees?) riser

now i´m wondering if i could interchange
the new riser on my current 2006 exocet 200 rail
with the old vix deluxe riser
and put my forward mounted riser of the exocet 200
on the old vix rail

and with these two bows could make an

-old vixen deluxe
-new phoenix
-old exocet
-new exocet 200

out of my parts if i bought the vixen deluxe ??

by the way, does anyone know if the trigger has changed
from the old vix deluxe to my new exocet
or if i would recognize differences in
pulling weight or creep in between the two models?

would like thank you for answers in advance

Lisa,
The new riser is not as wide so the rail will not fit in it. Yes you can make them fit you would need to grind the lip or edge off the new riser to get it to bolt to the rail.

I made the switch between my exomax and my exocet with no modifications what so ever and it fit fine and they both shoot fine. I bought my exocet the year before they came out with the exomax, I dont know if that makes a difference or not but it worked for me. Now I have 2 xbows tha shoo the same speed.

No - the riser or rail are slightly different dimentions (width) and will not interchange without machining. The sight base (dovetail) is slightly different, too. And old front sight will be loose on the new (machined) dovetail.

I only tried it once and that was on a Vixen Deluxe last year they made it and the riser was from a first year Phoenix and it fit no problem. The bows were one year apart in age.

thank you for your replies and info!!!

the vix is a 2005 model
and the exocet 200 a 2006 modell
(slightly different camo)

at least the wider riser will fit on the narrower rail
so i will have three draw weights to choose

i will try and tell you if i really can get it.

can you tell me something aboute the trigger differences
beween a vixendeluxe 2005 and my 2006 exocet?

I have a Miss vixen, that has the carved tip limbs & cast flat riser & machined rail has the blk. and grey leaf camo. I also have a new Phoenix with machined riser and foward limbs. They interchange perfect fit! Each and every part will! I sat down yesterday afternoon and tore them apart reassembled them. Made the vixen a new phoenix and the phoenix an older vixen. Then i took them apart and put them back as they were.
