Forward Risers vs. Flat Risers
Forward risers vs.Flat risers. Is there any difference in speed between them? Or is the speed strickly a function of the rail length only?
The "angled" riser, which causes the tips of the limbs to face forward an inch more than those equipped with a straight riser, was first introduced in 2004 and available only on the ExoMax, which replaced the Exomag. In 2005 it was used to transform a Vixen into a Phoenix, since they both had a 14" rail. That same year, it was also used to upgrade the Exocet 175 and create the Exocet 200. A year later the Vixen's rail was reduce to 13.5" and the Phoenix's increase to 14.5".
Even though the rail/pwerstroke was not increased, the angled riser has the similar effect as if an extra inch were to be added to the rail and thus the powerstroke. This is because the limbs have to be flexed an extra inch to cock an Exocet 200 compared to an Exocet 175.
