Check your eye relief from your scope. It shouldn't matter to much with a crossbow, because there is no jump/kick. Also, check the position of the butt into your shoulder.

A buddy of mine did the same thing . . .I'll not mention names, he's a member of this forum.

It can happen!
My 7 year old son put a nasty welt on his forehead with my air rifle scope last week. Now he wants open sights on all my guns.........

It doesn't look to deep for stitches, I hope it doesn't scar on me. I'm really lucky it didn't hit my glasses. I moved it, as far way from my eye as I could.

Oops! Sorry to hear of your scope-cut, Brainiac. Hope it heals soon.

When I read the title of your post, I thought you had killed a deer!

As for scars: Every man needs a good scar to enhance his rugged appearance. I've got a six-inch beauty starting just in front of my ear and running down my neck ... the result of a fight with a 20 ft. 2'X12" that had a #60 ring-shank pole-barn spike set in it. I lost. 15 interior stitches, 85 exterior stitches! :D Makes for good stories, though!

First blood my xbow drew was from myself too. First time I shot a broadhead into the foam block, I went to pull it out with not noticing where my hand was. Sliced the hand in between the thumb and forefinger.

I would have lied and say you had to wrestle the rut crazed buck to the ground.

Don't feel bad I did the same - Stupid me trying to site in and be as still as possible I decided to lay on the ground and shoot. Well the limb's on my old Horton caught the ground and the x-bow jumped back and cut me above the eye.
My friend's had a good laugh and so did I, it hurt like hell but it was out of my own stupidity - I knew better, just wasn't paying attention.
